Power-to-Heat

District heating generation with Power-to-Heat

In contrast to heat pumps, which use electricity as a drive to generate heat from other sources, Power-to-Heat systems (PtH for short) convert the electricity supplied directly into heat.

PtH system works like a kettle

The centrepiece of the system is an electrode boiler containing water that is heated by alternating voltage using electrodes. Due to the high level of efficiency, hardly any energy is lost. The heated water is then fed into the district heating network via a heat exchanger.

We build on a project-specific basis

We integrate Power-to-Heat systems individually or combine them with other technologies, such as combined heat and power plants. We take on the complete project coordination and turnkey plant construction. Power-to-Heat is an essential component of  innovative combined heat and power (iCHP).
